Geosciences Rebrand

This branding project was developed for the Department of Geosciences, which encompasses four distinct yet interconnected sub-disciplines: geology, geography, atmospheric sciences, and geospatial science. The goal was to create a unified brand system that allows each sub-department to maintain its own identity while aligning cohesively under a singular, overarching visual language.

Each sub-brand features a unique mark derived from the varying positions of Earth’s axis and equator, creating a secondary logo system that subtly references the global and scientific nature of the field. Topographic map patterns were integrated across the brand elements to visually tie the system together and ground the identity in the physical world the geosciences explore. Careful attention was given to ensure that each sub-department received equal visual representation, reinforcing a sense of balance, collaboration, and shared purpose across the system.
